Street Party Biography
Street Party is a retro-covers band. Based in Sydney Australia, we play all the popular funk, pop, soul, and rock covers that party people want to hear. We focus on danceable music that works equally well pubs and clubs as well as at private or corporate events - anywhere where there is a need for great live dance music. Our extensive repertoire enables us to create a versatile mix for your crowd.
Generally our bookings are for 3 hours comprising 3 x 45 minute sets, however, set lists can be tailored to suit the client, the venue, and/or the event.
The core of Street Party is five musicians, with the addition of guest players as and when required. For clients wanting a bigger band presence, we can add professional saxophone players, full brass sections, percussionists, and extra backup singers if required. This versatile approach allows us to stand out from the rest.

Lesley (Max) Anton
Lead Vocals
Max has performed in originals, covers, and tribute bands, most recently touring with Simply Divinyls, a tribute to the late Chrissy Amphlett and legendary Aussie band, Divinyls. Her energy and vocal diversity span RnB, Disco, Pop, and Rock. Max's dynamic stage presence and highly engaging connection with audiences ensures that Street Party lives up to its name of getting the party started and keeping it going all night.
David Every
Drums, Backing Vocals
Born in London, and moving to Australia in 1969, David has a long history in the Sydney music scene starting as a technician for Roland and Phase Engineering, and building Moonlight Recording/Rehearsal Studios in Brookvale. During this time he was building his skills on the drums, having started playing at age 12. Now a seasoned drummer, when he's not playing with his reptiles he loves to get into his home recording studio, and to get out there playing live music.
Mik Mateljan
Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals
Mik provides the foundational groove for the band as well as contributing soulful backing vocals. Mik is an experienced bass player, having been in the sydney music scene for many years. Since coming on board with SP he and the bands Drummer David have formed a solid rhythm section thats tight as a drum and helps keep the floor packed with dancers from start to finish of every gig.
James Murre
Lead and Rhythm Guitar, Backing Vocals
James is a virtuoso kind of player and loves the challenges presented by emulating covers. James also has a particular grasp of melody that adds so much authenticity to the songs. James gives StreetParty its authentic guitar sound, to the extent that its often difficult to pick from the original song.
Philip Reichardt
Keyboards, Backing Vocals
Phil is a diversely accomplished keyboard player, and in this setting he provides all the tones and moods to make the songs complete. Classically trained, and now adding new skills for modern genres to the mix for StreetParty.
